If you're looking for a fun and creative way to put your extra mason jars to use, try making a DIY mason jar fairy garden! Not only is this project easy to create and affordable, but it's also a great way to add some whimsy and charm to your home or garden. You can use a variety of materials to create your fairy garden, including miniature figurines, pebbles, moss, and small plants like succulents. You might even want to consider adding some fairy lights to your creation to give it a magical glow at night!
Mason jar fairy gardens are a great way to add a touch of nature and whimsy to any space. You can use different types of mason jars, from small to large, and fill them with your favorite plants, figurines, pebbles, and moss. There is no limit to the creativity you can bring to this project.
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED
Once you have your supplies, you can start creating your fairy garden. Begin by adding a layer of small pebbles to the bottom of your mason jar. Next, place the moss on top of the pebbles. This will help with drainage and help prevent over watering.
On top of the moss, add some soil and then plant your succulent. If you're planting the succulent from a container (rather than a trimming), loosen the roots. You may also need to remove some of the soil for it to fit in the jar. Next, cover the soil around the succulent with more pebbles and some more moss (if desired).
Finally, add your decorative items, such as figurines or rocks. You can use your creativity to arrange these items in any way you like. Be sure to water the succulent... but not too much! I like to keeping my mason jar fairy garden on my desk next to the window, so it gets plenty of sunlight and I can enjoy it everyday!
